RED MISSION BOX APPEAL next weekend we will welcome Fr Owen Grant mhm who will appeal on behalf of APF-Mill Hill Red Box Mission. This appeal will be to support Catholic missionary work by taking a Red Box. If you already have one you could bring it along and Fr Grant will empty it or you might just leave your name and address and we arrange to visit and empty it in your home.
The APF (Association for the Propagation of the Faith) was founded in Lyons in 1822 and the money raised helps all of the 1069 mission territories in the world to provide pastoral care and spread the Gospel effectively. To use one of these collection boxes is one way of participating the worldwide work of the Church. For many years now they have been a very popular tradition in Catholic homes. Please consider taking one for you home. Find out more at missio.org.uk.

• Bishop Campbell has launched a diocese-wide, high-profile initiative to invite practicing and lapsed Catholics to go to confession during Lent
• The Light Is On For You! is part of the Diocese of Lancaster’s determination to reach out to those who may have wandered from the life of the Church and those Mass going Catholics who have been away from Confession for some years.
• Every Wednesday of Lent every Catholic Church in the Diocese of Lancaster will be open from 7.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. for Catholics to go to Confession.

WEDNESDAY IS Ash Wednesday (22nd February) and we will have Mass at 7.30pm with the blessing and distribution of ashes. It is a day of Fasting & Abstinence.
On the remaining Wednesdays of Lent, from 29 February until Wednesday 4 April, from 7:00-8:00pm, we will be joining all the 99 parishes in the Diocese by offering opportunity for prayer and confessions at St Mary’s.
We will have prayer before the Blessed Sacrament from 7pm until Mass at 7.30pm and a priest will be available for Confessions before Mass.

This outreach is called The Light is On For You, and is an effort by our Diocese to highlight the importance of the sacrament of confession in the life of Catholics and to make it as easy as possible for every Catholic to come or to return to this great source of God’s mercy and healing love. You are welcome to come here or to go to any other Catholic church. There is a dedicated page on the diocesan website: lancasterdiocese.org.uk, with materials and videos to help you prepare.

I AM” for Preston. Join Preston churches for a Preston Guild Lent Study Series. The ‘I am’ sayings of Jesus will be prayed and shared led by speakers from Preston city churches. These will be held every MONDAY from 20th February until 2nd April and from 7.30pm-9.00pm. Refreshments. You are welcome on any and all evenings. Please take a leaflet from the church porch.
